The MOBILE-Edit laptop from Video Hardware Services LLC is a notebook workstation designed to be used on location, at work, or at home on the deck. Whenever you have an idea, you can work on it when you feel creative. Sporting a desktop P965 chipset, the system uses Intel’s latest desktop Core bluray_22 Quad (that’s right, Quad Core!) technology that you would find in a typical desktop workstation. Take it on location and complete the edit on the way back to the Studio in the van. With the Intel Core 2 QUAD, you have 4 processing cores on one chip. The new Core 2 QUAD runs about 40% faster, and consumes over 40% less power all while generting less heat. Add in the wide screen 17” LCD display at 1920X1200, Nvidia 8800GT (optional Quadro FX 1600) video card w/ 512MB of DDRIII Ram, and then you’ve got the ultimate mobile workstation.

We’ve tested, used, beat up, and qualified this workstation for use with the AVID Xpress family right up to AVID Xpress Studio Essentials. The Adobe CS3 works very well, and EDIUS Pro from Grass Valley rocks on it, SpeedEDIT lives up to it’s name, making it easy to work on projects across systems. Wait until you see the Full Screen HD playing back at 1920 x 1080 on the 1920 x 1200 screen, it’s absolutely amazing!
